Rocklin Police Department

ROCKLIN (CBS13) – A traffic stop turned into a drug bust after Rocklin Police discovered pounds of marijuana stored in a suitcase, authorities said.

Investigators said 51-year-old Brian Kirk was pulled over for a traffic violation at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday and was told to park his truck at the side of the road after an officer discovered his driver’s license was suspended.

Despite the order, Kirk allegedly got into his vehicle and drove away a short time later. Nearby police units stopped his car again and arrested him for driving on a suspended license.

The Rocklin Police Department said officers searched the vehicle and located a suitcase and several glass jars filled with approximately 4.25 pounds of marijuana.

Kirk was taken into custody at the Placer County Jail on charges of transporting and possessing marijuana and is being held on $85,000 bail.
