Every week I hear from new people who are speaking up about restoring jobs in the U.S.A. The last few years of the recession have prompted a growing number of people to speak up because they see the harm that outsourcing has done to American workers and America’s economy.
We continue to hear announcements that gas prices will increase in the U.S.A. because of unrest in other parts of the world. My first reaction was, why does America continue to rely on foreign suppliers for such a large portion of its energy? Our national leaders have been discussing energy independence for years but dependency on foreign oil continues to grow instead of decline. I’m sure you agree that America should never be in a position where foreign powers are able to govern our fuel supply or prices.
Through the Buy American Made Campaign, I have been asking you to be more sensitive to the needs of America’s workers and support the businesses manufacturing in the U.S.A. I have been asking you to place yourself in the position of those seeking employment and to support the Buy American Made Campaign to ensure that employment opportunities grow, not decline.
People often tell me they now realize too much outsourcing has hurt America’s industries and how they would like to see the hands of time turned back 20 or 30 years. This time around they would be sure to support products made in the U.S.A. and ensure that America’s towns and cities flourished with industries where people were able to support themselves and their families.
We have many challenges ahead of us, but many possibilities if we use our purchasing power to support products Made in the U.S.A. and speak up where we shop.
This is Michael Blichasz. With all of us working together we will see some positive changes in America’s economy and our future. Send me your thoughts and suggestions. My email link on the front page of AmericanWorkersNeedYou.com
