Eight alumni and students from the Pentagon speak to students at career event

On January 31st, six alumni and two students who work or have worked at the Pentagon gathered to share career advice with a group of IWP students.

One alumni panelist commented: “I had a great time participating on this panel with other alumni answering students’ questions about what it’s like to work at the Pentagon. Speaking to the students afterward was truly inspiring. They come from all walks of life, and with a strong desire to serve and protect our great country.” Read more

In this interview, we speak with Curt Klun, a Senior Policy Analyst at the Department of Justice (DOJ). Curt has joined the doctoral program at a key time in his career as he works to formulate an integrated strategic approach to fighting transnational organized crime. Read more

Alumnus Spotlight: Peter Sulick (’11), Review Team Lead at CACI

Peter Sulick (’11) found his professional passion at IWP as a national security student. After being exposed to the Intelligence Community at IWP, he developed a particular interest in counterintelligence. Peter now works as a Review Team Lead for CACI and manages contracts for the Defense and Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA). Read more

Alumna Spotlight: Rachel Bauman (’18), Helsinki Commission policy advisor

Since graduating from IWP in 2018, Rachel Bauman has been working as a policy advisor for the Helsinki Commission covering Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, and the Baltics. The Helsinki Commission is an independent government agency that works closely with Congress to monitor commitments with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). Read more

IWP Trustee Edward F. Reilly, Jr., former Chairman of the United States Parole Commission, was appointed as a U.S. Observer to the International Fund for Ireland by President Donald Trump’s administration. Read more

Heidi LeBaron Leupp joins IWP Board of Trustees

IWP is pleased to welcome Heidi LeBaron Leupp as the newest member of the Board of Trustees. Ms. LeBaron Leupp had served on the IWP Board of Advisors since November 2018. Read more

Above: Author and spy catcher Eric O’Neill discussed his book Gray Day: My Undercover Mission to Expose America’s First Cyber Spy at IWP on February 21st. This event was IWP’s annual Brian Kelley Memorial Lecture, honoring the late Prof. Brian Kelley, who was falsely accused of being a Russian mole. Eric O’Neill helped catch the actual mole, Robert Hanssen. 

Above [and In the title picture]: Team NATO and Team Russia faced off during IWP’s Baltic Storm crisis scenario this February. This three-week simulation involved an intelligence analysis phase, as well as a wargame and policymaking scenario. Team Russia emerged victorious this semester.
